What shampoo is best that is for dry scalp like Head and shoulders or something?

Head %26amp; Shoulders makes a shampoo specifically for dry scalp. If your dandruff it particularly bad, you can use T-Gel shampoo, which contains coal tar as the active ingredient. What shampoo is best that is for dry scalp like Head and shoulders or something?

Best Shampoo for hair that gets quickly greasy - but with flaky scalp?

I've tried many, from the expensive to the cheap - non seem to work. I'm currently using one from 'Bad Hair', but if this doesn't work, I don't know what will! Does anyone have any suggestions?Best Shampoo for hair that gets quickly greasy - but with flaky scalp?
Vosvene is good. Or a simple Head and Shoulders. If your hair is greasy, wash it less. Mine used to get very greasy very fast, and then I started washing it about once a week and just tying it back if it looked awful. My hair lasted much longer looking good!Best Shampoo for hair that gets quickly greasy - but with flaky scalp?
I have this exact same problem,

Head and shoulders never ever worked for me it just made it worse,

Treseme was awful it made my hair feel lank, heavy and unwashed,

Herbal essances used to be the only thing that worked but now it doesnt even work!

I heard from a friend that T-Zone is supposed to leave it feeling litterally squeeky clean i think it is made by Neutragina :)

that is the one im going to try :)

hope this helps :)

treseme is what i use.. but i have the opposite to what u have..my hair goes dry. try using head and shoulders if that dosent work.. wash ur hair every other day. dont put any products in your hair, and always towel dry xxxx
Try Herbal Essences Degunkify OR drama clean! They both work AMAZING. After one wash, the grease was all gone. Make sure you wash your hair once every other dday.

If you don't like those products , try Head%26amp;SHoulders

Dry scalp shampoo, help please!?

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had used any of these shampoos and which would they recommend? I have a dry, itchy scalp with lots of dandruff (and I also get a lot of spots on my head too) and I also have very sensitive skin.

These are the shampoos:

E45 dry scalp shampoo

Eucerin dry scalp relief shampoo

Neutrogena T/Gel shampoo for sensitive scalp

And would you suggest I also use conditioner? And if yes could you recommend one for me to use?

Thanks very much!

;)Dry scalp shampoo, help please!?
My daughter had a very itchy and flaky scalp so I bought her some of the T/Gel shampoo and it cleared it right up within a couple of weeks. It's probably best not to use a conditioner but if you do want to maybe just use it on the ends of your hair. Good luck xDry scalp shampoo, help please!?
Hi,

Most shampoos and conditioners contain far too much:

SLS

Sodium lauryl sulphate is considered to be the most harmful - it is used in testing laboratories as the standard ingredient (upon which all other substances are compared) for irritating the skin. A solution of just 2% SLS can increase skin thickness, cause irritation, inflammation, and increase other forms of immune activity in the skin. )

%26amp; Parabens

Some reports suggest that parabens may cause skin irritation, rash, dermatitis, and allergic skin reactions. Children may be more at risk as their skin is thinner, allowing harmful substances to be more easily absorbed. Concerns have been raised about the long-term health risks of using products containing parabens.

I use a natural hair care remedy, Tea Tree Anti Dandruff shampoo which has had some glowing reports.

You can buy this online from http://www.trustwilliam.com/Skin-Care/Au鈥?/a> with free delivery and if you spend over 拢20 you should use code 'sm20' at the checkout to get a 20% discount!!!

Here are some comments of other users of this shampoo:

';The products do what they advertise especially the anti dandruff shampoo. This we alternate with the normal tea tree shampoo.';

'; better than others that i have used my dandruff has nearly gone great stuff';

I hope this helps!!!
I have the same problem, ever since i was born my scalp has been dry and itchy, but in the last 3 months or so ive been using this shampoo called Dermarest Medicated Psoriasis Shampoo + Conditioner, it works great,i think this brand of shampoo is 10x better than Head and Shoulders, i get skin build-up on my scalp but be warned, if you itch your scalp before you get a shower it will sting very bad, the shampoo itself is like 7 dollars at wal-mart or where ever you shop. Hope this helps
I recommend Selsun Blue and it comes in a few different kinds. I say use it 3-4 times a week and leave it on for a couple minutes before rinsing out. Make sure you are applying it to your scalp and really massage it into it.

What is the best shampoo and conditioner for dry scalp and frizzy hair?

loads of answers already about the frizzy hair so i will help on the rest...

the first thing you need to check is your diet. The fact that you have dry ahir and scalp means that something is lacking. you may need to check your diet, take multi -vits ( dont bother with expensive things advertised especially for hair they arent worth it) ... without question you need to up your water in take.

for a good cheap shampoo for dry scalp Boots do their own version. dont make the mistake of using anti - dandruff as this is not what you have and could actually make the problem worse.

Also when you condition your hair you need to make sure that you towel dry your hair BEFORE applying the conditioner and massage your scalp to increase the circulation and also rub some of the conditioning agents into your skin.

whne you hair and skin are that dry they become very absorbant, so if you dont remove some of that water first there is no space for the conditioner to go in.

you would benefit from a professional treatment to give the actual hair a bit of a kick start but you have to remember that the hair that is already there is dead so any work on it is purely cosmetic. focus your attention on maing sure that the new hair that grows is in better condition.

It can also be worth getting checked up at the GP as dry hair and scalp can sometime indicate thyroid issues or a vitamin deficiency, ( often strict vegetarians have this problem).

Lastly, just remember that you are never going to alter the actual type of your hair, it will never end up soft and silky, but you should be able to get it looking healthy and shinny and more manageable.

Hope that helps a littleWhat is the best shampoo and conditioner for dry scalp and frizzy hair?
K Pak hair recononstructor is wonderful, but very expensive! I also use Garneir Long and Strong. Even if your hair is not long, it really helps keep it healthy and keeps the frizz down. After washing, I use frizz ease hair serum. Works like a charm. What is the best shampoo and conditioner for dry scalp and frizzy hair?
try the frizz ease shampoo and conditioner but i use pantene shampoo and conditioners and i absolutely love it! it smells great, feels great, and of course, it looks great! Try it for a while to see if it works for you! it helps with split ends and split ends is usually what causes frizziness.

Aussie-Its called Cleanse and Mend.My scalp and hair is greasy, wats a good shampoo?
Look for any shampoo that is designed to clean oily hair, or hair that is filled with product. You don't want a deep cleaning shampoo, because that WILL strip your hair and make it too dry. I just use one of the cheap shampoos at Walmart, and it cleans my hair fine.

For conditioner, though, there is only one that I will ever recommend.John Frieda Weatherworks conditioner, with Frizzease, is AMAZING.

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d鈥?/a>

This will make your hair super silky and soft, without making it greasy. I have pretty dry hair, and I've tried everything out there. This is the only conditioner that will really make your hair feel nice without gunking it up or making it greasy. Natural, soft hair is all you get. Its awesome.

I had it recommended to me by one of the people who worked there, too!
Okay so I have like the same exact problem. Then I started using head and shoulders which makes your hair feel really good my hair like doesn't get oily. But when I et out of the shower I use a dove replenishing spray and it keeps your hair soft and silky without making it oily.

people think it's just for people with dandruff

but i have really greasy hair and this stuff really helps!

it smells great too- since i've started using it i've gotten some comments on how good my hair is looking

seriously it's great and makes it so shiny :)
Paul Mitchell dandruff control w/ tea tree oil. Dandruff not necessary.

Also, contrary to what Donia said, you should not be washing your hair every day, that's the problem.
    You should try Sunsilk.

You can get it in shampoo and conditioner for pretty cheap at supermarkets!

It works GREAT to make your hair silky and soft! And it keeps mine from being greasy!

    Good luck!

my friend had this happen to her too.
You can get special tonics for it but make sure that you rinse your hair properly the only time its ok to leave products in is if you have dry ends in which case you leave condtioner on the ends
apple cider vinegar about 3 inches to 3 cups water vinegar apple cider will also make your hair shine and act like a conditioner
    try water!
use less of the stuff your useing too much this happed to me use a littel bit at a time an if you need more just add a small amount
Mix a little bit of baking soda into your shampoo and that will help it...

My Shampoo is Making My Scalp Itchy?

Theres a shampoo that makes my scalp itchy. Is it something in the shampoo? What should I do?My Shampoo is Making My Scalp Itchy?
Yes it is something in the shampoo. Shampoo has something in it called sulfite, which makes the shampoo all sopy like and what makes the bubles and suds. So some shampoos have more sulfite then others, and there are even some that have no sulfite at all and thats the good kind that i buy. So the sulfite gets stuck on youre scalp and makes a layer of soap on youre scalp, and thats what causes the itchiness and dandruff.

HOPE I HELPED!! ^_^ (P.S even head and shoulders have sulfite)

(And i kinda forgot its eaither sulfer or sulfite, look at the back of ur shampoo bottle its one of those)

head and shoulders never works, what i recommend is changing shampoo. different types can automatically richen your scalp not producing dandruff. although ive read an aricle once on shampoos and it said that about 90% of the brands are all made of the very same exact chemicals, the only shampoos in the market that actually add different substances are Pantene ProV and Herbal Essenses. there were some others but i dont recall.

so, try using one of these than regular shampoos, they might do the trick without the needs of dandruff shampoos.

Dose using Head N Shoulders shampoo dry out your scalp if used too much?

If Head and Shoulders contains Sodium Lauryl Sulphate then yes, it not only will dry out your hair, but it will cause skin ailments and possibly cancer. Sodium Laureth Sulphate is less harmful, but it's still not good. SLS is an ingredient that makes soaps foam up. The foam is not needed to clean hair. I did not know all of this. Your question made me look it up. Now I have to find products without sodium sulfates in them. Thanks.Dose using Head N Shoulders shampoo dry out your scalp if used too much?

Shampoo is a very personal thing. Without knowing more details about your hair texture and scalp condition, I hesitate to make any recommendations. However, I personally swear by Mastey products and I use Zeal from their sister company for scalp problems. They're among the gentlest shampoos around, originally designed to prevent hair color fading, but it turns out the surfactants they use also reduce the occurrence of scalp irritation and damaged hair. It will clean your scalp without stripping your hair. And the conditioners use natural humectants to moisturizer your hair, rather than oils, waxes, or silicones.

There are other things to consider too. One issue is how you shampoo. Consider first rinsing your hair leaning forward so that your hair all goes outward from the back of the crown. Then apply the shampoo there and work it outward throughout the scalp, but don't shampoo the ends of the hair. This way, you get your scalp clean but minimize the washing of the hair. A shampoo massage brush may also help.

Then when you condition, do the opposite. Start by applying the conditioner to the ends and then work it in.

It stands to reason: you want your scalp cleaned but you want your hair conditioned.

One more thing. Unless you have very curly hair that breaks easily, look into getting a hairbrush made with natural boar bristle and brush your hair regularly. natural boar bristle does an excellent job of spreading the sebum from the scalp to the length of the hair, which is good when you have an oily scalp but dry ends.

    Good luck!
Try using a shampoo for oily scalp/hair, and latter apply an ultra moisturizing conditioner for the hair.

Also do deep conditioning treatments once every two weeks to a month.

    That should do the trick.
tea tree shampoo and conditioner....paul mitchell has a great one
maybe not shampoo..... here are some home remedies which are very good for dry hair. i had dry hair myself but when i tried these tips it was great! they've never been dry again!

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a ';little'; honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Beat up on an Egg: Separate the white of an egg from the yolk, and whip the white thoroughly. Then add 1 tablespoon of water to the yolk and blend until the mixture is creamy. Next, mix the white and yolk together. Wet your hair with warm water, remove the excess moisture, and apply the egg mixture to your scalp with your fingertips. Massage gently until the froth is worked into your scalp, and then rinse the hair with cool water. Keep applying the mixture until it is used up. Continue to rinse until all of the egg is washed away

Go for the Mayo: Heat up one half cup of mayonnaise until it becomes an oily, white goo and apply to dry, unwashed hair. Cover your hair with a plastic bag and leave on for at least 15 minutes. Then, rinse and shampoo thoroughly.

Mix up a Tropical Treat: Mash one over-ripe banana (the blacker, the better) with a mushy, rotten avocado. Massage this exotic puree into your hair and leave on for at least 15 minutes before washing out鈥n the kitchen sink!).

Grab a Cold One. Beer can give your dry hair a healthy sheen. Before you blow-dry or style, use a pump bottle to spray brew onto your hair. The beer will leave your hair shiny and sleek and its odor will disappear quickly.

In addition to using these home remedies regularly to avoid dry hair, try the following preventative measures:

    Avoid overshampooing. Shampooing can wash away the hair's protective oils, so try washing less often and use a mild shampoo labeled ';for dry or damaged hair.';

Condition regularly. Conditioners protect the hair鈥檚 cuticle layer from splitting from the shaft. Pick a conditioner that works well for your hair and use it after every shampoo.

Wear a hat. Too much exposure to wind and sun can leave hair thirsty.

Trim off split ends. The biggest problem caused by dry hair is split ends. Schedule a trim every six to eight weeks to keep fraying ends under control.

Ease up on the heat. Heat (in the form of blow dryers, as well as straightening and curling irons) can quickly dry out hair. Let your hair air dry occasionally. Try using plastic cylinder rollers to straighten hair by wrapping slightly moist hair under and around rollers for about 10 minutes. For curling, try using sponge rollers overnight or sleeping with moist braids.

Don't swim without a cap. Use a rubber cap to protect your hair from the damaging effects of chlorine. If you must forgo a cap, rub a spoonful of olive oil into your hair before diving in.

also heres a very good website which could help you out with all hair problems!

    http://www.pioneerthinking.com/hair.html

    Good luck!!:)

Another thing is also putting in lotion in your hair after you have gotten out of the shower and you can also put in lotion in hair after you have dried it.

Just rub some lotion on your finger tips and run it through your hair evenly.

Also, something that will help your hair is to take COLDshowers. What most people dont know is that if you take hot showers, the heat gets rid of the oils and other things that your hair needs to be kept healty and shiney.

    Hope this helps!

If this doesnt help just contact me and i can give you more tips for your dry hair!

Smash an avocado and mix with jojoba and peppermint oils. Make sure its really smooth you may want to put it in a food processor with a little water. Then apply some to your scalp and the rest on your hair. Massage for a minute or so then put on a plastic cap. Leave for 15 to 30 minutes. The avocado and jojoba oils will moisterize and the peppermint will stimulate your scalp to loosen any dead skin and open your pores. It will feel great. Your hair will grow better and won't be dry. :)

Medicated Selson Blue, Head and Shoulders is a decent shampoo, but their franchise name is severly overrated. Selson Blue has a much better solution for drandruff flakes. Back when I had dandruff, I used Selson Blue. Now I use Selson Blue's moisturizing shampoo and it has the same dandruff fighting power as Head and Shoulders, so even the moisturizing one is better than Head and Shoulders.

It can be found at any major grocery store, or even your local wal-mart. Around my area its $2.39 a bottle of the Medicated one, so dont expect to be losing your pockets for this one. What is the best dandruff shampoo for bad scalp with flakes?

    Head %26amp; Shoulders, Amaaaaaaaazing!!!
Cream and nature you should try it. Some pretty good stuff but try some one else's advice but thats my opinion
My niece had dandruff so bad it used to look like bits of lump in her hair, i tried everything but to no success until i discover Selsun Blue, it really works i will consider this the best.
Head and Shoulders I think is the best shampoo. They also have a line of extra strength shampoos that should help you.
    Selsun Blue.
Try Selsun Blue or Head and Shoulders. If not there there is T-gel from Neutrogena but really expensive.

Redken's Dandruff Defense -Scalp Relief Dandruff Control Shampoo%26amp; Conditioner- fights dandruff and it's symptoms, gently soothes and clarifies scalp.

its mostly shampoo build up and i dont know how to get rid of it...it grossI have ALOT of shampoo and dead skin build up on my scalp how do i get it off?
Clarifying shampoo is what you need! It's like a magical potion when it comes to build up on hair. I would recommend Redken Solve-- I use it in the salon and at home. If the build up on your hair is really stubborn, try mixing in a little baking soda. It will help break up the build up.

If your scalp is dry and flaky on a regular basis, try using some Tea Tree Oil Shampoo (Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Oil Shampoo is awesome).

I have ALOT of shampoo and dead skin build up on my scalp how do i get it off?
first you need to buy a clarifying shampoo and a light conditioner. shampoo your hair twice with the clarifying shampoo each time you take a shower for a few days. then you can cut back to using the clarifying shampoo two or three times per week depending on the build up that incurs. i woud suggest however, if this is a bad build up problem, to go to a salon or to a beauty school (the latter would be way cheaper!) that use REDKEN products and ask for a ';PRE ART'; conditioning treatment. this should be pretty cheap for you but will get that intitial build up off and leave your scalp feeling really clean. good luck!
You might need to go to the dermatologist. It sounds like you have extreme dry scalp. They can give you something to relieve the itch and the dryness.

Try these sites they might be able to help until you get to the doctor.

she told me that it was that i used too much shampoo so she recommended that when i take a shower 2 only use shampoo every other day or more if u want.(and dont use too much shampoo when u do)

    worked 4 me-
Try using a mixture of baking soda and water or ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar). I do it once a month to clarify my scalp or like the others say, use a clarifying shampoo like Suave or Pantene Pro-V.
I have the same problem! I just take a shower and scratch my scalp a lot. It gets some of it out. That's all I do. If some one answers message me, plz? Oh yeah, I also use Head and Shoulders it really works.
are u sure its not dandruff instead? how do u know its shampoo buildup

try using head and shoulders or somthing for dandruff
Try a clarifying shampoo. They are sold in all the stores.
massage your head in the shower while you wash, and RINSE!!!!! even massage when you rinse.
head and shoulders, and if that doesnt work, see a hairdresser. too exspensive? try just..ya know..scratching it off..?
head and shoulders, used it for 2 years and no dandruff yet :)

Why does hair conditioner feel colder on the scalp but shampoo doesn't?

because it has different chemicals in it,Why does hair conditioner feel colder on the scalp but shampoo doesn't?
Conditioners are designed to penetrate deeper and does it have mint in it? Mint will leave a nice cool feeling on the scalp. It may be listed in the ingredients as menthol (the stuff in cigarettes, cough drops, vapor rub and other things.) When you put mint in shampoo it wont tingle as much as it does in conditioner. Why does hair conditioner feel colder on the scalp but shampoo doesn't?
Because conditioner has a different chemical make up. It is made to coat hair and soak in. That's the only thing I can think of.
conditioner isnt meant to be put on the scalp just hair or it will make it greasy.

Will using my anti-dandruff shampoo after the Alberto VO5 hot oil hair treatment damage my scalp or hair?

I just bought the Alberto VO5 hot oil hair treatment. I know that u use it before you shampoo. The thing is I use an antidandruff shampoo regularly. If i use them in combination, will there be damage because its an anti-dandruff shampoo instead of a regular one. (My anti dandruff shampoo is the Neutrogena one)Will using my anti-dandruff shampoo after the Alberto VO5 hot oil hair treatment damage my scalp or hair?
thing is with most anti dandruff shampoos such as head and shoulders - the chemicals in them which are used to treat the problem can often cause other problems such as irritation to the scalp and making the problem worse.

try using a shampoo wuth tea tree oil in - tea tree oil is known for being v.good for greasy hair and dandruff and helping sore itchy scalps. Will using my anti-dandruff shampoo after the Alberto VO5 hot oil hair treatment damage my scalp or hair?
No go ahead, the only damage anti dandruff shampoos do is fade coloured hair
it wont damage your hair or scalp just make it smooth and have a nice glossy shine!
    shouldn't hurt a thing..........

So if the conditioner is not supposed to get on the scalp in my case what do I do since I have a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditionerGirls I have a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner so I understand conditioner does not have to get on scalp true?
2 in 1 is usually very light conditioner, so unless you have really oily hair naturally, I wouldn't worry too much about it, the shampoo part will take most of it off anyway. If your hair does look greasy, buy separate products next time.Girls I have a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner so I understand conditioner does not have to get on scalp true?
ive been told that 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner isnt as good as using them seperatly but this thing about conditioner shouldnt touch the scalp, its no what its meant for but it doesnt hurt it, because u have to let the shampoo touch your scalp or youll get like dandruff or something.

There is no guarantee as to what certain product that will suit you because you might have different reaction to a certain prod. When I had that, H%26amp;S didn't work to me, but it worked to my best friend so it depends. But try the mild anti-dandruff. You can also try treating it by leaving some amount of pineapple juice directly to your scalp and leave for about 30 mins. It's kinda uncomfortable but you'll get used to it. Believe me, it works best to me and made my hair really extra shiny! (be sure to extract the juice with a cloth or unused pantyhose). Make sure to treat yourself with a hot oil, it will truly nourish your hair and scalp. Also, every time you wash your hair, be sure to rinse it well (shampoo/ conditioner residues especially when exposed to the sun are a big factor for having dandruff), especially the scalp, by using your nail tips, and not with your fingernails.
    Pantene is good or sunsilk

Can nutrient and herbs in shampoo actually absorb into the scalp?

i mean can a shampoo with nutrients really benifit the scalp and if so howCan nutrient and herbs in shampoo actually absorb into the scalp?
No, they cannot. The skin is semi-permeable from inside to the outside. The skin can deliver water molecules and in sweat certain salts.

Nutrients and herbs benefit the marketing of the shampoo. The shampoo may loosen some dead skin cells and get rid of some fat in the hairs.

My Hairs are Oily/Greasy... How to make them Dry from Scalp.. Pls Advice Shampoo or relavents thing?

i want to have dry hairs , what should i do to make my scalp dry.. oilfree..... :( i am facing problems with oily/greasy hairs.. like hairloss and no life in hairs... what to i do to make my hairs HEALTHY. plese friends suggest me some usefull tips Thank You..My Hairs are Oily/Greasy... How to make them Dry from Scalp.. Pls Advice Shampoo or relavents thing?
I have the same problem when I don't maintain my hair well. First of all, you don't want to make your hair dry. Oil is what keeps your hair healthy. Second, Do not wash your hair everyday! Every other day is preferable. Third, you need to use a good shampoo and conditioner.

Invest a little more and buy the salon brands like Redken. I use Loreal Nature's Therapy from Sally's Beauty Supply.

Even if you have greasy hair, you still need to use a moisurizing shampoo. When you shampoo your hair, shampoo only the scalp really good and when you rinse off, the shampoo runs down and cleans the ends. When you apply the moisturzing conditioner, apply it only from the mid section of your hair to the ends. (After applying the conditioner, I roll it up and use a clip to moisturize for 3-5 minutes).

You can apply a little conditioner to your scalp only if you start to notice it getting dry. Lastly, use a clarifying shampoo twice a week to get rid of the buildup grease. Try Pantene Pro-V clarifying shampoo. Only use it on the roots and scalp. Hope this helps!

Don't forget to use a bristol brush when you blow dry! Don't blowdry too frequently though! My Hairs are Oily/Greasy... How to make them Dry from Scalp.. Pls Advice Shampoo or relavents thing?
The easiest way to prevent your hair from being oily or greasy: make sure that you massage shampoo designed for oily or greasy hair into your scalp well. When you apply conditioner, don't massage it into your scalp. Apply it at least a centimeter away from the scalp.

If you want to have even better results, look for any hair products designed to keep away oily or greasy hair from happening. You can find them in almost any shop that sells hair products.
The most common mistake people make when washing there hair is they put the shampoo and conditioner all over their entire head... this is NOT how you should wash your hair!!!

When you shampoo your hair you should shampoo ONLY your scalp.

When you condition your hair you should condition ONLY the ends, do not put any conditioner on your scalp... this is what causes a lot of grease.

also try blow drying your hair upside down focusing on the roots, this will not only give your hair more body, but it will also dry out your scalp and make your hair less oily.

    GOOD LUCK
I have kind of oily hair.

Just look throughout the shampoo isle and get a shampoo that says it's for oily hair, not moisturizing. I got a moisturizing one by accident and it really made a mess of my hair so make sure to get shampoos/conditioners for oily hair.

Aussie is a really good line I find and they have a collection for pily hair.

i know it might sound odd but try using just regular head and shoulders. i have the same issue as you and i use head and shoulders every other day instead of my regular shampoo, and i only condition as i need it.

well ummmmmmmmm..... i just let my hair stay in the shower being wet for about an hour or 30 min. and they r very dry, surprisingly. so yeah. i don't like my hair though. but whatever.
head %26amp; shoulders has done wonders for my hair, there are many types that head and shoulders offers. The one that i mostly use is smooth and silky. i just love my hair!

Usually your high end products work the best! Read the labels and experiment! It can be costly! I would stay away from some of the cheaper products simply because they are often times harsher on your hair or do not provide the emolients that are necessary to keep your hair healthy. If you wash your hair every day - a baby shampoo can be the thing to buy as well!

If you are unsure of your doctors advice. Please call the office and nurse will gladly find out for you. If they aren't being helpful ask for the office manager and explain the situation. If still no help find another doctor. Be patient though. Some times it can take up to 24 hours for the nurses to get the message, find your chart, ask the doctor and get back to you. Sometimes we just don't have enough hours in our day but at our office we are always willing to help.

Is shampoo scientifically proven to help your scalp?

I mean c'mon is there any benefit. Will my hair fall out if I don't use it?Is shampoo scientifically proven to help your scalp?
Shampoo cleans by stripping sebum from the hair. Sebum is an oil secreted by hair follicles that is readily absorbed by the strands of hair, and forms a protective layer. Sebum protects the protein structure of hair from damage, but this protection comes at a cost. It tends to collect dirt, styling products and scalp flakes. Surfactants strip the sebum from the hair shafts and thereby remove the dirt attached to it. While both soaps and shampoos contain surfactants, soap bonds to oils with such affinity that it removes too much if used on hair. Shampoo uses a different class of surfactants balanced to avoid removing too much oil from the hair. The chemical mechanisms that underlie hair cleansing are similar to that of traditional soap. Undamaged hair has a hydrophobic surface to which skin lipids such as sebum stick, but water is initially repelled. The lipids do not come off easily when the hair is rinsed with plain water. Shampoo applied to wet hair is absorbed into the oil/hair interfaces. The anionic surfactants substantially reduce the interfacial surface tension and allow for the removal of the sebum from the hair shaft. The non-polar oily materials on the hair shaft are solubilised into the surfactant micelle structures of the shampoo and are removed during rinsing. There is also considerable removal through a surfactant and oil ';roll up'; effect. Is shampoo scientifically proven to help your scalp?
IT only makes your hair smell pretty,,,,lol....... umm probably stops dandruff, not to mention other small CLEAN bugs,, HAHAHA
    What exactly is your question?

Medicated shampoos clearly help your scalp. They use the same ingredients that dermatologists prescribe for things like eczema. I cannot get through a winter without Head and Shoulders and Selsun Blue. Other shampoos work differently depending on your skin/hair conditions and the water you are washing with. Your scalp is simply part of your skin, but the problem is that you have to have something that both cleans your hair and moisturizes your skin. Not easy. Water conditions make it even less easy.

For instance, I lived in 2 different apartments (one with well, one with city water from river), a trailer park (nasty well water) and a home (city water from well). My hair tends to be oily. I had to change shampoos at every location because it either left a scummy feeling to my hair or dried out my scalp resulting in itchy, itchy, itchy. Some shampoos include moisturizers that clearly help your scalp--unfortunately, most of those shampoos work for normal hair and not oily.

If you do not have hair or have buzz cut, then I think you could go with Irish Spring and not buy other shampoo. Using soap in your hair will make it icky over time, but if it works for you, go for it.
dude, that's nasty. it keeps yer hair from getting greasy and crap.

I get a skin fungus about once a year usually during the summer. I have tried everything, but nothing seems to work better than the ketoconazole pills because it works internally, rather than topically. Ask your doctor if he can call you in a prescription. I got one that I had to take for 7 days, for only $6.00 (with no insurance). Good luck to you.

Head %26amp; Shoulders, or Selson Blue. They smell great, work great, and don't burn a hole in your pocket. Or, go to a salon and pick a hydrating/moisturizing shampoo.Whats the best shampoo to keep my scalp healthy?
    Probably--\\ Heads And Shoulders
Head %26amp; Shoulders isn't really strong enough. Selsun Blue is better, it has a different ingredient which just seems to work better. But the best option is Neutrogena T-Gel. You can get the Wal-Mart knock-off brand for less than $4. Yes it smells bad, but your conditioner will cover up the smell. It works the very first time you use it, and you only need to use it two - four times a month.
    Head %26amp; shoulders.

I don't use it, but i've heard good things about it, and will really stop dandruff.
I would suggest head and shoulderes, you can get it at your regular drug store
