How can I deal with dandruff and an itchy scalp without shampoo?

Shampoos that relieve scalp itch and dandruff have actually made the problem worse for me, so I am wondering how I can take care of the problem without using a commercially available dandruff shampoo.How can I deal with dandruff and an itchy scalp without shampoo?

Try hot oils (you can buy them in the shapmoo section) in the shower. If your Dandruff and itchy scalp is from dry skin this should help.

boil potato skin in water, let it cool then use the water to wash your head with your regular shampoo..

for the last month, my scalp has been itching, and i have noticed a little dandruff. i have a peppermint shampoo thats posed to calm the itching, but it doesnt work. i heard that t-gel works good. you may want to try that. im going to.
You should see a dermatologist. The commercial dandruff product sometimes tend to make the problem worse. You could have any underlying skin condition and a dermatologist could recommend the correct products or prescibe something for you. I know it's expensive but it's well worth the money.
